Vintage (RR BBQ) Closed as of 11/9/2016

Yesterday the RR BBQ Restaurant hosted 40+ members of the Lake Montezuma Women’s Civic Club and was bustling with energy throughout Tuesday.  Today it is closed off.  A sandwich board blocks the driveway which states, “Sadly, due to recent changes in employment laws, we cannot afford to continue in business”.

In late spring Mulligan’s Grille LLC owned and managed by Shane and Kathy Watts began the process of a zoning change for the RR BBQ parcel to hard-zoned Commercial 2-35 (Commercial; General Sales and Service).  On September 21, 2016, the Yavapai County Board of Supervisors approved upgraded zoning.  Thus, the Watts are ready to begin a new endeavor at this location.

With the grille’s closure, scheduled meetings and activities are being relocated starting with the special FBCL meeting that would have used the building on Sunday.  Therefore:

FRIENDS OF BEAVER CREEK LIBRARY’S ANNUAL MEETING WILL BE HELD AT THE BEAVER CREEK ADULT CENTER THIS SUNDAY, NOVEMBER 13, 2:00 TO 4:00 PM DUE TO THE SUDDEN CLOSURE OF RR BBQ.
ANY QUESTIONS REGARDING THIS MEETING, PLEASE CONTACT JUDY MCBRIDE, 567-4648 OR DARLA MELCHER, 592-0792.

This Week in Beaver Creek 11/3/2016

Dear Neighbors
The highs have dropped to the low 70’s and we may get a little rain before Saturday which is expected to be mostly sunny with calm winds.  Such perfect fall weather, the leaves are dropping and swirling slowly to the ground.  Two events that we always look forward to are scheduled for this weekend:  the Arts & Crafts & Bake Sale at the BC Adult Center on Friday and Saturday and the BC Trails Day on Saturday in Sycamore Park.  Please enjoy both if you get the chance.
Also this weekend there is the bird walk at Montezuma Well, a Yavapai Apache Nation celebration at Montezuma Castle, and the Rimrock Writers meet in the BC Library.  Sunday is Mitzvah Day.  If you would like to get involved, some information and a contact number is at the end of this email.
Mrs Sam Fisk shares the following: “I am writing you to let you know we saw a Bobcat behind our fence at 3215 E. Montezuma Ave. this afternoon (10/27) about 2:45…… This was a large bobcat… about 2 1/2 to 3′ tall at the shoulder…. prowling along our back fence…. we are going to take precautions… we suggest anyone with small pets in the area do the same.  2 years ago a bobcat came down about this time of the year and killed a neighbor’s cat, I saw this happen…… I assume this guy is hungry.  Just thought it would be good to let folks know…”
Ready to enjoy autumn!
