Good Things at BC School 6/19/2019

Dear Neighbors
Check out the good things below that are happening at Beaver Creek School, always so wonderful to see what are kids are experiencing!
On another note, Beaver Creek School is short one first grade teacher and needs housing for another one.  Superintendent Ward would work with someone who has a bachelor’s degree in another field who would like to get started in teaching and would get a lot of support and appreciation.  Please call 928-567-4631 if you are interested in the first grade position or have a lead on housing for the other teacher.
All the best,

Good Things Happening at Beaver Creek School

During the last two weeks of school :
  •          The 5th-8th grade students enjoyed Bell Trail. The hike was amazing.!
  •          The  forty-five  7th and 8th grade students who earned the SunSplash enjoyed a fun day in Phoenix!
  •          The Western Theme Concert was fun for all to see!
  •          The play put on by 21st Century 4th-8th graders was well attended.
  •          Mrs Guth’s annual play is always fun to watch.
  •          The kindergarten graduation was joyful and energetic!
  •          The 8th grade graduation went well. The students really listened and worked as a team .
After school was out, we prepared for the College for Kids and Kinder Boot Camp.  Thirty students are attending College for Kids!  We had 3 students in Boot Camp but they are now ready to see kindergarten in August.  None of these students had been in preschool or Head Start.   And, Diana Iverson  is now on her three week vacation ( before retirement day of June 30) after a lovely lunch put on by the office staff on Friday, June 7!
We are enjoying having an office and a maintenance youth NACOG worker this summer.

Lots of Summer Events 6/11/2019

Dear Neighbors
With the arrival of mid June, the annual preparations for the Fourth of July Parade, Pancake breakfast, Celebration and Duck Race are in progress.  There is always interest in watching the parade, however we would like to see more participants in it.  Walkers are welcomed as well as motor vehicles and horses.  It’s a different experience doing the short route and doesn’t have to be anything fancy, though decorations and creativity are always appreciated.  Signing up can be done at the Montezuma Rimrock Fire Station or at the Beaver Creek Adult Center.
The potential Verde Connect road and bridge project is a hot topic around here.  The Beaver Creek Community Association has heard presentations from both Connect and Disconnect.  BCCA will meet from 3 to 4 PM on Monday, 6/24, in the Beaver Creek Adult Center to finalize the association comment.  BCCA would appreciate further comments from local residents directed to contact@BeaverCreekAZ.us or at the meeting. Yavapai County is holding public meetings tonight in Cottonwood and tomorrow night in Camp Verde to present the alternatives and to take public comments.  Further information on these is below.
There have been questions about when the fog sealing will take place on Montezuma Avenue and Lake Montezuma Rd.  It has been cancelled due to the product specified with the Asphalt Paving and Supply contract would not work on these roads.  Yavapai County will reschedule treatment of these roads in the future, probably using chip seal.
Duck Tickets Here
Duck Race tickets are for sale at many locations through out Beaver Creek.  Good prizes as usual and the profit supports local Beaver Creek Kiwanis projects throughout the year.  The fine summer activities are continuing at our local library.  This afternoon, Ancestry.com training is featured from 1 to 3 PM.

Beaver Creek eNews 6/5/2019

Dear Neighbors
June is here and the temps have heated up. Looking at the low 90’s this week. The calendar crew’s two local favorites are in full bloom-the birds of paradise and the yuccas. Always a joy to see each summer!
Saturday morning at the Beaver Creek Adult Center is the monthly pancake breakfast from 8 to 10 AM followed by the semiannual Dump the Drugs. If you need to get rid of old or unneeded medications, please stop by and see Jeannette Estes and Deputy Alex Hawkins in the library portion of the Adult Center from 10 AM to Noon who will graciously assist you.
The summer library programs start this week at the Beaver Creek Library with interesting sessions for all ages. The schedule and flyers are below. Don’t be bored, please come make some new friends and learn something, too.
The annual Back to School BBQ at Beaver Creek School will be on August 1 this year. Lyndel Kelley, Administrative Assistant, is doing the planning and sends this invitation:
Dear Community Member:
Beaver Creek School is planning its Annual Back to School Barbeque.  It is a perfect time for Community, School, and Local Agencies to come together and make information available.  The Back to School Barbeque will take place on Thursday, August 1st from 6:00 until 7:30 P.M.  Set up will begin at 5:30.
We would like to extend an invitation to your group or agency to reserve a table at this event.  If you are interested please call Beaver Creek School at (928) 567-4631 or respond to this email with the name of your group or agency, contact name, and phone number.  Please respond by Monday July 17 if you are interested in having your group represented.

In preparation for the summer monsoon season for those who live near the creek or a large wash, please note the location of the two sandbag areas. One has a new entrance and the other has been relocated. The Rimrock location is at the back of the same lot next to the post office. Access it via the post office entrance and continue on the Beaver Creek Baptist parking lot and turn left. In Lake Montezuma, the Sycamore Park parking lot is no longer used. Instead, turn off Montezuma Ave onto Seneca Ln and you will see the sand location.
Hope to see you at the library & eating pancakes,
