Board Meeting

September 12, 2011, 5:00 p.m., BCAC



Attending:  Janet Aniol, Maggie Holt, Karin Krippene, Virginia Bartling
Absent:  Marie Kraetz, Dick Hulse
Committee chairs attending:  Tom Saunders, Lee Weller

Janet called the meeting to order at 5:04 pm with Maggie recording.

Information items were discussed.

Minutes of the July and August meetings were approved as distributed.

Treasurer's report indicated a balance of $454.03 in the general checking account and $11,557.22 in the CD.

There were no public agenda items.

Janet reported she has received noxious plant information and will have it available in BCAC.  VVLPI will start its mapping project on Oak Creek.

P&Z:  Tom reported that M Diamond Ranch, near V-V off 618, wants to serve alcohol and rent out rooms October 19.  Tom will investigate further.  If no objection, LMPOA will probably send letter of approval.

Water:  Virginia reported that Ann Rinehart called Flood Control in Cottonwood and was advised that more people should get involved.  She discussed the chronology of contacts and remarked on the lack of responses to them; she also remarked on the need to have more people call Flood Control.  Another Save the Bridge meeting will be held, date TBD.  The governor's office should be contacted as well.  Janet suggested resending petitions to the county.

County Redistricting:  Janet attended a meeting with Chip Davis and got information for DOJ, remarking that many complaints would pique interest.  It was duly moved, seconded, and approved to send a letter from LMPOA to DOJ re concern.

Ranch House Coalition:  Updates, including irrigation and renumbering of holes, were discussed along with the upcoming Ranch House Round-Up fundraiser to be held October 1.

Spooktacular:  Will be held Monday, Oct 31 in Rollins Park with approval from LMPOA.  The community's VISTAs will head up and coordinate the event.  It was approved to have LMPOA provide 1 of the 2 porta-potties needed up to $65.

Donation to BCAC in the amount of $500 was approved.

Payment of $200 to allow MRM Trails Coalition to restripe the golf-cart/pedestrian crossings of Montezuma Avenue was approved.

A letter of support for Montezuma Rimrock Water Company's rate increase request to fund arsenic abatement was discussed.  Janet will get more information and email the board.

Karin requested a meeting, even if by email, re VISTA questionnaire for volunteers.

There being no further business, the meeting adjourned approximately 6:15.
