Board Meeting Minutes

October 1, 2012, 5:00PM

Beaver Creek Adult Center

 

 

The regular Board Meeting of the Lake Montezuma Property Owners Association was called to order by President Janet Aniol at 5:03PM. Board members attending were Maggie Holt, Tom Saunders, Karin Krippene, Jim Bowser and Sharon Brooks.

 

The information items from board members and residents were discussed.  Items not included on the agenda but noted were:

            A brief history of Lake Montezuma Property Owners’ Association

            A Spirit of Sedona grant received by CASA® Children’s Center

            The success of the Beaver Creek Adult Center’s rummage sale

 

Janet introduced the guest speaker, Dale Dunns, Interim Fire Chief.  He introduced members of the fire station team – Bonnie, Dave, Marshall, and Carla, - who spoke on parts of Chief Dunns agenda.  He gave a brief history of the Rimrock Montezuma Fire Department.  He discussed the need for staffing as well as the types of activities for which the department is responsible.  He also gave a financial history of the station. His main topic was the Override, which will appear on the November Election ballot; the need for the override and the impact on residents of the override.  If the override does not pass, layoffs will be one result.

 

Sharon moved and Maggie seconded that the minutes and the financial statement be dispensed.  Motion carried.

 

Public Agenda Items:  None reported

 

President’s Update:    The search for a commercially licensed electrician to work on the lighting in Rollins Park is continuing.  Three estimates, all of which are very high, have been received by Janet.  Jim Bowser has a lead, which he is following.

Committee Reports

Transportation: No report

 

Membership: No report

 

BCRC:  No report

 

Water: No report

 

Beaver Buggy:   Maggie reported that Beaver Buggy has logged approximately    48,000 miles.

Beaver Creek Transit has received  a Sedona Community Foundation grant for $500.  BCT needs to get another vehicle and is asking that this vehicle be donated to Beaver Creek Transit.  The donation would be tax deductible.

 

Planning & Zoning:  Tom reported that the owner of 3575 Valley Vista, Rimrock is continuing to do the clean-up.

 

Old Business:  None reported

 

New Business:  Spooktacular was discussed.  Not much is happening right now, but possible activities, such as Trunk ‘n Treat, costume contest, games, were mentioned.  A meeting will be held in the near future to work out the details. It was moved by Sharon, seconded by Maggie that the use of Rollins Park be approved.  Motion carried.

 

The Election set-up is scheduled for the next meeting date of November 5th.  It was moved by Maggie, seconded by Jim that the meeting be moved to Monday, November 12, 2012.  Motion carried.

 

There being no further business the meeting was adjourned at 6:43PM.

 

The next meeting will be November 12th at 5:00PM at Beaver Creek Adult Center.
