Lake Montezuma Property Owners Association
Board Meeting Minutes
November 12, 2012, 5:00PM, BCAC
The regular
Board Meeting of the Lake Montezuma Property Owners Association was called to
order by President Janet Aniol at 5:01PM. Board members attending were Maggie Holt, Tom Saunders, Karin Krippene, Ron
Melcher and Sharon Brooks. Jim Bowser
was absent.
The
information items were discussed. The
Dump the Drugs date is set for December 1st from 10AM to 12PM. The BC Adult Center Potluck is December 15th
at 5PM.
The minutes
from September 10, 2012 were read. It
was moved by Sharon, seconded by Tom that these minutes be accepted. Motion carried. The minutes from October 1, 2012 were
read. It was moved by Sharon, seconded
by Tom that these minutes be accepted. Motion carried.
A letter of
thanks, regarding their Cookbook Project, from Lake Montezuma Women’s Civic
Club to LMPOA was read.
Janet gave
the financial report as follows:

Public
Agenda Items: Janet received word that T. Joseph Remodeling
was seen emptying one of their trucks into the dumpster at Sycamore Park. The matter has been reported to authorities.
President’s
Update:
The search for a commercially licensed electrician to work on the lighting in
Rollins Park is continuing.
Committee
Reports
Transportation: No report
Membership: Ron is preparing a letter to go out to
property owners, who did not renew membership last year. He also mentioned contacting APS for new
hook-ups. Janet will check on the
property list. It was decided to include
with the newsletter pre-addressed envelopes for those owners, who had not
renewed.
Janet noted that the newsletter is almost ready to mail. The
deadline for Board members to submit information is Saturday. It was decided to have a stuff-the-newsletter
get-together on Monday.
A discussion was held regarding changing LMPOA’s status to a 501(
c )(3) (non-profit).
BCRC: A discussion was held regarding
BCRC’s wanting to obtain individual memberships. It has become difficult to get organizations
in the area to belong and/or to send delegates to the meetings. It was thought that there would be additional
participants should BCRC appeal to individuals. However, all organizations seem to be suffering from lack of participation. The answer for BCRC may not be to apply to
individuals.
Water: Janet reported that Yavapai County Flood Control has a website.
Arizona
Water has requested a 27% increase. This
would be the second increase in a short amount of time. A discussion was held with the outcome being
a letter be sent from LMPOA. Sharon
agreed to write this letter.
Beaver
Buggy: The
grant from Sedona Community Foundation has not yet been received. More drivers are needed..
Planning
& Zoning: Tom reported that, while driving around the
area, he has noted some properties that pose a fire hazard. As is possible, he will speak to lot owners
about cleaning up their properties.
Old
Business: Steve has requested that minutes be sent to
him at the earliest opportunity. It was
decided that he will receive them as soon as they have been approved by the
Board.
In January
the Board will discuss making a donation to Beaver Creek Adult Center
Currently,
LMPOA is paying for the maintenance of Rollins Park every other week. The watering is being done twice a week.
The bids for
doing the electrical in Rollins Park were discussed. It was moved by Maggie, seconded by Karin
that the Cunningham bid for the electrical plus the permit be accepted. Motion carried.
New
Business: A discussion regarding Holiday Fest was
held. Kiwanis will be
participating. Janet is recruiting help.
There being
no further business the meeting was adjourned at 6:30PM.
The next
meeting will be December 3rd at 5:00PM at Beaver Creek Adult Center.
