ANNUAL MEETING & Treasurer's Report

.

Current members of the board are Sharon Brooks, president; Jim Bowser, vice president; secretary, vacant; Janet Aniol, treasurer; Phil Edwards, Ron Melcher and Maggie Holt, directors.  Tom Saunders served on the board until his passing this month and Karin Krippene served as secretary for most of the year.

At the end of December 2013 the association had $ in the checking account.  None of that amount is encumbered for projects at this time.  All membership dues go into the checking account.  The savings account has been closed and funds transferred to the checking account in order to stop the $2 monthly bank fee on such a small balance.  At the end of December 2013 the LMPOA project CD had $.  The funds rolled over every 34 days and collected a small amount of interest each month.  No funds were removed from the CD in 2013.

In 2013 there were 233 family/household memberships.  From the $25 memberships $5825 was received.  64 of the memberships included extra donations toward park upkeep and improvement.  These contributions totaled $885.  Thus $6710 was received from membership dues and extra contributions.

In 2012 $3200 was transferred from the CD to the checking account in anticipation of rewiring and making improvements to the park electrical system.  The lowest bids were accepted which totaled $4200.  The next lowest bid was $6100 for the electrical alone.  The actual cost for the project totaled $4971.34.  More repair work was required for the water system and to restore the park walkways for safe use than was anticipated.

In 2013 a donation of $500 was made to the Ranch House bills by paying an Arizona Water Co bill and a donation of $200 was made to the Beaver Creek Adult Center.  In 2012 donations of $250, $200, and $500 were made respectively to Beaver Creek School, MRM Trails Coalition, and Beaver Creek Transit.  The winter of 2012/2013 had many very cold days which damaged the park fountain and the backflow meter.  Fountain repairs and a new pump and installation cost $370 and the replacement and installation of the backflow meter cost $300.  There were several small water leaks this year but no major ones resulting in excessive water bills.

The association co-sponsored Halloween Spooktacular and assisted in the preparations by paying for two portajons and having the weeds in the surrounding area chopped back for safety.

The flag which had been such a faithful watchman of the park, had one disaster after another.  Please don’t get me started!  Ultimately we paid Flags Galore $219.48 for flag pole repair.  Phil Edwards is our new Mr. Flag.  Please contact him about flag issues.
