BCT (Beaver Creek Transit)
of 3/24, the 5310 grant van known as the Beaver Buggy has transported
passengers for 4401.5 miles. Call the
scheduler, Maggie Holt, at 301-2749 to arrange transportation.
The front windshield will be replaced soon--awaiting
arrival date of the VISTA member who will assist with grant writing,
fundraising, and volunteer recruitment and scheduling has been postponed until

Beaver Creek School
An ADOT Safe
Routes to School (SRTS) planning grant was awarded to Beaver Creek
School. Planners did an assessment of
the pickup and drop off procedures at the school on February 22 & 23 and
made a presentation of the findings to the public and YC Public Works
representatives on February 23.
Combined Bid Pricing – Yavapai
County (contact Mike Willette) will initiate bids to include Verde Valley
cities and towns in collective bidding in order to get the lowest prices
for chip seal and overlay services.
Crack sealing and striping may be included at a future date.
Cohnville Trail – Will join
with the Cornville Path at a Park-n-ride site. Have entered into a JPA with Forest Service
for consultant for NEPA. Another public meeting this spring. Environmental results due by fall. This will complete phase I.
Cornville Road – Project
will go from Tissaw to Aspaas. Road
reconstruction with 4-ft shoulders and raised medians in town. 4-ft shoulder on uphill side only for
switchbacks area where is less space.
will start in April. Expect delays up to 20 minutes. Tentative work hours will be 9 AM to 7
PM to avoid morning rush hour.
HURF – Some of
these funds are now used to support DPS.
HURF funding will probably also be transferred to support MVD. Means even less for County road projects.
Bridge engineer to be hired by
County to evaluate Wet Beaver Creek and Oak Creek for pedestrian bridges.
Finnie Flat Sidewalk Project – IGA
approved. In design expect a
September bid. Will pair up with
ADOT for bid. Drainage project (at
90%) will affect this.
Holloman St. – CDBG
funds. Will add sidewalk on the
North side of street and storm water project. Will go out to bid by April. Working with NACOG. At 90%.
Hwy 260 & Industrial Rd
VVTPO support for safety improvement.
89A lighting and
overlay project – On
February 22 the Sedona City Council voted to accept responsibility for this
portion of 89A from ADOT. Sedona will
receive the check and transfer will be complete by the end of April. Since the decision, an effort has begun by
some residents to block this action
Statewide Interstate Sign
Replacement/Rehab Project – Anthem – Cherry Rd. Prescott District project being
administered by Flagstaff District (winter work). Minimum impact on I-17 traffic. Signs will be updated--completed by
I-17, Stoneman Lake to Yavapai
pavement preservation project this summer.
Munds Park TI
project -- allow for increased travel time to & from Flagstaff. One lane open north and south bound at this time.
